Based - Sharjah

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Senior HR Advisor supports the Human Resources (HR) Function through providing a flexible and professional HR service to Line Management and employees, through full alignment of employee related strategies, Company policy and relevant legislation.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Company and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Company and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Generic Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Provides Human Resource business partnering and expertise within the designated business area, United Arab Emirates
  • Develops a constructive and professional relationship with all stakeholders and HR colleagues within Company
  • Support the relevant HR plan and strategy
  • Responsible for the efficient, timely, accurate and cost effective management and delivery of the function's activities within the designated area of responsibility, considering local employment legislation
  • Ensures the implementation of and adherence to Company's Management System, professional tools, policies, systems and processes
  • Ensures accuracy and compliance of all HR data (manual and electronic)
  • Ensures Human Resources capitalises from lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently
  • Participates in Region and Global HR initiatives as and when required
  • Supports the standardisation, compliance and efficiency of Functional policies, processes and systems across Company
  • May have budgetary responsibility and responsibility for procuring HR Services in line with SCM process
  • In addition to above, may have Specialist Responsibility for an area of HR Expertise and/or have day to day responsibility for more junior team members
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

HR
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders, review, adapt or implement where necessary, HR fundamental practice to ensure integrity & compliance in areas such as:
  • Employee handbook
  • Standardised and consistent employment contracts
  • Visa compliance
  • Induction
  • Mandatory training
  • Annual leave management
  • Fair and consistent compensation & benefits in line with Group and Region policies, guidelines and processes
  • To ensure compliance and guide management with local employment legislation and practice.
  • Manage the transition of payroll and HR administration from in country to centralised Employee Services.
  • Manage the transition of personnel from other Middle East business unit locations
Recruitment
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders in the business unit, develop & implement a recruitment plan for UAE that addresses the sourcing and recruiting of local talent
  • Support the potential growth of the location in line with the Middle East business plan
OD
  • Deliver and implement Company’s performance management system in UAE
  • Identify and action development and training needs
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders in the business unit, develop & implement a plan to recognise our people
  • Deliver the global opinion survey in UAE
  • Support the global talent review process locally
Overall
  • Ensure that all HR activities promote and encourage Company values and our diversity direction with nationality and gender, and also local country requirements and goals in these areas
  • Develop and build a professional HR service to local managers and employees
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of local employment legislation and practice
  • An ability to interface with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Approximately 6-8 years of proven work experience in similar roles
  • Ideally an HR or business management related qualification at degree level or above
  • Existing knowledge of the subsea oil and gas industry is preferred
  • Arabic language is advantageous
  • A pro-active approach to resolving problems and overcoming challenges, contributing at all levels and in all aspects to ensure a professional HR service is delivered to the business
