BASIC FUNCTION
* Provide elevated support to explorers in the creation and maintenance of key geological workflows through expert capabilities in geoscience software packages and advanced knowledge of geological and geophysical data.
Essential Job Duties:
* Able to execute assignments requiring a broad knowledge of data management and workflows through expert capabilities utilizing various Geoscience Interpretation platforms and tools
* Performs studies, analysis, and interpretations as directed by explorers; shadow more complex work projects assigned to Geophysical Analysts
Assist in Finding Oil by:
* Observing planning meetings
* Executing projects with minimal supervision
* Working with a team to ensure data integrity and seamless availability
* Giving periodic guidance to less experienced technicians
QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an oil and gas environment as a Geoscience Technician
* Must have proficient knowledge of Petrel and Kingdom software and technology. (Experience with other major interpretation software platforms is a plus and may substitute for specific software experience)
* Competent knowledge and understanding of seismic data acquisition and survey parameters
* Experience with loading seismic data into various software platforms
* Must have an extensive knowledge of ArcGIS software and technology in conjunction with a broad knowledge of spatial data management in the energy industry
* Assist in maintaining company geophysical information database in ArcGIS
* Generate Geological base maps and data sets to supplement analysis
* Locate, gather, prepare, and load well data into applications and maintain databases
* Gain exposure of additional complex tasks within the job function
* Experience in data mining through various subscription (IHS), government, etc. databases
* Excellent written and presentation skills
