The Contracts Manager is responsible for the commercial management of contract(s) and the adherence to contractual conditions at the respective location.
He/She is expected to control all activities concerning contracts and sub-contracts and the associated Procurement, Finance and HR activities and their implementation, including commercial aspects and expediting activities. It is essential that all contract and administration matters, as well as the adherence to contractual conditions and compliance, are guaranteed in accordance with the given contracts and applicable Company regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Implementing and controlling of activities related to contract management such as procurement, finance and human resources including commercial and expediting activities
* Establishing and managing applicable interfaces with contractor(s) and supervising the hiring of personnel and personnel capacities
* Managing the contract execution in terms of schedule, budget and quality while meeting the contractual requirements and ensuring best commercial practice
* Ensuring contractor's adherence to all contractual conditions
* Co-ordinating and documenting all contractual activities, including preparation and issuance of commercial and technical documentation
* Monitoring progress and developments against the plan; in particular, contract change management and early warning of any issues which cause or may cause deviation from the project schedule
* Procuring materials and services, participating in procurement processes and supervising coordination meetings
* Close monitoring of the progress of the contractual execution and supporting activities such as handling bill of quantities, invoice approvals, control of project costs and preparation of variation orders
* Executing contract management on a day-to-day basis
* Handling claim management, managing and controlling expediting activities
* Checking and following-up on documentation (technical and commercial) for progress evaluation and commercial issues
* Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity amongst project teams and department members
* Provide guidance and support to contractor as advisor and to internal departments
Skills and experience:
* Commercial education
* Strong practical experience in contract management for major construction / logistic projects, preferably in an international environment
* Fluent English, German would be advantageous
* Enforcement power and negotiating skills
* Project oriented with proven strong resilience in multicultural environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent interface capabilities
* Ability to work independently, under pressure and to deal with unexpected situations
* Ability to deal with different cultures and authorities
* Flexible work attitude
* Willingness to travel
