Rotating Equipment Operations & Maintenance Support Engineer
The Rotating Equipment Operations & Maintenance Support Engineer is accountable for the maintenance and operation of the Rotating Equipment in the selected Assets, in order to deliver safe operations and improved reliability while balancing cost. Will act as a coach and advisor to the asset members and counterparts, to support sustaining and improving day-to-day operations and maintenance of the rotating equipment on site. Sustainability shall be assured by uplifting the competence level of Asset staff over time, both in operations and maintenance and by embedding improvements in the system(s).
General:
Actively act as coach and trainer to Asset’s site mechanical personnel.
Carry out a review to identify competency gap assessment of the frontline personnel, both in maintenance and in operation
Training assets team members on equipment operational and maintenance requirements/best practice (e.g. nuggets)
Support maintenance and operation of Asset’s rotating equipment. Working directly with Asset Maintenance and Operations team in providing support in the day to day activities
Operations:
Deepen frontline personnel understanding of operation of turbines and compressors
Join operations in daily rounds to operations monitor and assess equipment condition and use digitalization facilities within plant (e.g. smartconnect or new project initiatives) in full appreciation.
Participation in Daily Operations meeting (when on site)
In case of equipment alarms and equipment operational upsets: Provide options and recommendations and troubleshoot
Improve frontline personnel skills in fault trouble shooting
Support in conducting on-site Root Cause Analysis utilizing opportunities to share and transfer knowledge.
Develop (or review / improve existing) check sheets for daily monitoring
Support in raising notifications in CMMS (e.g. SAP) for required maintenance
Promote and support the continuous improvement of the operations monitoring
Defining and monitoring Key Performance indicators
Maintenance:
Contributing to the development of a comprehensive Operating and Maintenance Philosophy that identifies requirements for monitoring, testing, adjusting and repairing
Support maintenance in the on-site day-to-day maintenance activities
Hand hold maintenance personnel to improve their competencies
Provide options and recommendations relating to maintenance and repair issues
Develop (or review / improve existing) maintenance plans
Develop (or review / improve existing) maintenance and repair procedures
Develop (or review / improve existing) equipment spare parts list and give support in the definition of their management procedures (Warehousing, supply, preservation,…)
Liaise with AGG team counterpart to ensure QA/QC and alignment of maintenance strategy
Provide support in the development of the CMMS/RCM
Promote and support the continuous improvement of the maintenance processes following field feedbacks (RCM Living Program)
Defining and monitoring Key Performance indicators
Training Field Technicians hands-on compressor alignment check using laser tools such as Rotalign
Special Challenges
Helping address the reliability challenges related to day-to-day operations and maintenance
Obtaining equipment maintenance information/history (not readily available and/or scattered)
Challenging working environment at the Asset locations.
Development Opportunities
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in rotating equipment in operations and maintenance environment
Hands-on experience with the type of equipment that is within the key assets: Light Industrial Gas Turbines (knowledge of SGT400 is a pre), centrifugal compressors, dry gas seals and seal gas system, auxiliary systems, reciprocating compressors, general purpose pumps + mechanical seals
Experience in coaching and developing people (very Critical)
Must be mobile to travel to sites globally.
