THE ROLE

I am seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor / Fire Risk Assessor with broad based experience to join my client, a large firm of construction consultants in their Birmingham office.

This role will need experience of fire risk assessments, fire compartmentation surveys, fire safety advice, plus project management, design and specification writing, contract administration, pre-acquisition surveys, PPM and asset condition schedules, measured surveys and quality and technica monitoring.

Clients and projects are very varied across a number of sectors including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, retail etc.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a a large multi disciplinary firm of consultants with offices in the UK and abroad.

They work for clients in the public and private sectors.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Degree or Diploma qualified Building Surveyor who is MRICS, MCIOB or similarly qualified.

You will need to have at least five years building surveying experience or more.

You will need broad based experience as you will be involved in all aspects of building surveying work and good technical competence is essential.

You will be a high calibre building surveyor able to deal directly with clients.

Experience of fire risk assessments across a range of property types and of doing fire compartmentation surveys to identify breaches, proposed remedial repairs through to preparation of specification and design plus advising on fire safety.

Experience of project work and surveys.

Good communication skills are essential along with good written and spoken English.

Salary is very negotiable and there is a car or car allowance, pension scheme, and many other benefits.
