Electrical and Propulsion Systems Engineer: Europe

Our client is a leading railway engineering contracting company from Europe looking to add to their design teams in both Sweden and Switzerland. They have a large body of works for both railway electrical and propulsion systems for new build and retrofit of rolling stock. As a leading engineering business they offer excellent long term career prospects and further development as well as the opportunity to work on a number of the largest rolling stock projects across Europe.

Permanent salary positions are preferred, however consultancy experts can be considered for shorter term involvement on a fixed term contract basis.

Job Role / Responsibilities
As part of the engineering design team you would be required to provide advice on the electrical engineering design aspects of the rolling stock and its sub-systems.
In this role you will also be responsible for train level design including propulsion system, auxiliary supply system, EVRs and other electrical items. Make note of engineering & design issues emanating out of change requests. Ensuring the correct integration of other interfacing systems, with particular regard to safety and reliability.

Requirements
Degree qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years of relevant experience in rolling stock and electrical sub system designs.
Propulsion systems design is preferred but not essential as training and development can be provided.
Knowledge of international standards followed for rolling stock.
