My client, a leading FPSO, FSO and SPM manufacturing company are urgently seeking a Cost Engineer to work in their Netherlands head office on a permanent basis.
Specific Cost Estimating
Resulting from an invitation to Tender, prepares the CAPEX cost estimates relevant to the scope of
work being offered and in the required format.
Collects estimating input deliverables from relevant team members or departments.
Collects and analyses the price information of suppliers and subcontractors, delivered by the
Contracts and Procurement Department and uses this information for cost estimates.
Develops proposal level 1 schedules.
Is involved in cost risk analyses, bench marks and cost reduction exercises.
Collects and reviews OPEX cost estimates from the Operation Support Group.
Participates and advises in proposal strategy meetings and tender boards and advises about
delivered cost estimates.
Maintains estimation tools and knowledge base.
Looks for correlations between costs and other measurements/relevant sizes.
Obtains feedback from executed projects from to update the estimate knowledge database.
Initiates and develops department working methods with respect to: parametric analysis and
validation as a source or check for estimates, recommendations for working process improvements,
benchmark and trade studies with estimation software, parametric or data analyses.
Prepares estimating plan.
Prepares basis of estimate documents.
Keeps knowledge and procedures up-to-date on all relevant aspects and shares this within the
Reports regularly to the Department Head Project Controls on personal achievements and
Keeps peer to peer reviews to improve quality.
Correctly administrates work.
Uses and maintains corporate standards. Develops and proposes improvements.
If necessary takes on Cost Engineer role.
Bachelor's degree in Technical Business Administration or other relevant education.
5 years of relevant experience in the offshore/oil & gas industry.
English good, verbally as well as in writing.
Knowledge of Cleopatra, cost estimating software.
Computer literacy for document processing, spreadsheets and database management.
