Primary responsibilities include development, coordination, and implementation of safety and compliance training programs across USO
Leads coordination of all safety training events and activities for three USO Business units.
Develops and maintains the USO training calendar; updates the safety training schedule and relevant materials on the Training & Competency Department website.
Oversees the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of instructor-led training, CBT, and artifact- based safety and compliance training.
Participates in the development and delivery of an integrated onboarding and new hire training program consisting of: classroom instruction, computer based training (CBT), and artifact-based self-led training.
As is necessary, participates in the development of procedures/SOPs and safety and compliance training materials.
Coordinates safety and compliance training with vendors and outside agencies.
Assists individuals and teams to plan and facilitate training requirements/opportunities.
Participates in the collection, reporting, and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs).
Maintains and manages online/web-based learning space. Manages the safety training records on our learning management system (LMS).
Manages all training records to ensure compliance with all NEI requirements for disposition and retention.
Maintains the USO Safety Training Matrix and identifies training gaps to be addressed.
Utilizes surveys, or other methodologies, to evaluate the effectiveness of training materials and events.
The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of safety and environmental compliance requirements for upstream and midstream oil and gas production, but is flexible enough to adjust training strategies, topics, and methodologies based on changing company requirements.
Ability to work with field and operations personnel, as well as EHSR staff, to deliver required process safety lessons in both an operational and a classroom environment.
Must be willing to begin training design process immediately upon hiring.
Maintain professional expertise by attending professional development conferences, monitoring regulatory changes, changes in the safety and health profession, and maintaining all professional certifications.
5+ years experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, Construction, or related discipline (Five years related work experience in the field of construction and facility operations for oil and gas may substitute for degree).
Valid Driver’s license and US work authorization
Training/teaching experience with qualifications for training various safety topics as required by regulatory , particularly in operations or construction with an emphasis on process safety principles
Ability to meet physical demands of position including ability to climb a ladder, lift moderately heavy equipment and work outside for extended periods of time.
DOT hazardous materials transportation experience
Bilingual – Spanish/English
OSHA Certified 10 and 30 hours training
