I am currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator to be based in Moray and work for one of the best known Contractors in the UK.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the estimating function within the business, ensuring that resources and procedures are in place to allow the business to tender effectively and secure work
Provide tendering and detailed cost estimates.
Manage and assist with the issue of Sub-contractor enquiries
Produce material enquiries in conjunction with buying department
Production of bills of quantities internally or procurement of externally
Produce analytical tenders for all projects from Bills of Quantities, Specification and Drawings etc.
Prepare preliminary/on costs in conjunction with Technical and Operations Department
Prepare rate items for self-delivered work activities
Present, report and advise Senior Management on projects at tender adjudication
Liaise with Design Team and key stakeholders during tendering process as necessary
Negotiate with Sub-contractors and suppliers as required
Take on the role of bid manager as and when necessary
Any other duties as required by Senior Management
Qualifications

To be successful you will Significant experience working in a similar role with a main contractor. You will have a broad knowledge of the construction industry and current techniques as well as experience in pricing various work packages (joinery, brick work, drainage, concrete and earthworks). You will have developed excellent negotiating skills and ability to manage risk and maximise margins. You will have strong communication skills and able to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines. An HNC/HND/BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential and you will ideally be a Member of Chartered Institute. A Valid driving licence is essential.

The working hours for this role are 38.75 hours per week
