DCS Controls Systems Technical Authority

We have a current opportunity for a DCS Control Systems Technical Authority on a contract basis.
The position will be based in Hassi Messaoud.
Line Manager: Technical Support Team Leader / Technical Manager.

Position Summary
Provide the necessary technical support of control systems including integrated control and safety systems (ICSS), Process Control Networks (PCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Programmable Electronic Systems (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for operations, maintenance activities and project modifications. This will include as ell management and maintenance of software and logic solver backups.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting to maintenance and operations on controls systems and equipment.
* Assist with the troubleshooting and maintenance of Control & Instrument Systems such as PLC, DCS and ESD systems.
* Assist in developing conceptual and/or detailed in-house software and hardware control systems modifications.
* Perform root cause failure analysis and make recommendations to avoid future failures.
* Progress assigned engineering queries, evaluating, and effecting the appropriate solutions to close out.
* Participate and take a practical role in preparing and reviewing preventive maintenance strategies related to control systems implementation.
* Perform critical disaster recovery of control systems equipment such as PLCs, HMIs.
* Review spare parts specification and participate in obsolete spares replacement identification.
* Exhibit good safety behavior through conducting safety conversations and safety observations.

Required Skills, Education and Experience
* A Degree in Electronic, Control or Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
* At least 8 years working experience in maintenance, engineering of control and instrument systems.
* Expert knowledge of PLC, SCADA / HMI control system, hardware and architect and application of instrumentation related standards, code, and regulation.
* A demonstrable understanding of instrument hook-up drawing, interfacing between DCS, PLC and other systems and auxiliary plant, field instruments, control valves and analyzers.
* Knowledge and understanding of plant HSE systems and procedures. Knowledge of preparation of technical specifications and associated documentation.
* Basic computing skills are a prerequisite.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail and an ability to work within a multicultural environment.
* Working knowledge of French and English languages.
