An Oil & Gas operations giant are looking to add a Lead Electrical Engineer to their team in the UAE.
Role will be contract based working Monday to Friday in the office and will offer an attractive day rate and opportunity to work for a major player in the Energy sector.
Role and Responsibility Synopsis
The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in identifying reliability improvement opportunities, lead electrical projects, review electrical design for multidiscipline capital and expense projects, and provide technical support in completing repairs to electrical equipment and power distribution systems.

Role and Responsibility Synopsis
The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in identifying reliability improvement opportunities, lead electrical projects, review electrical design for multidiscipline capital and expense projects, and provide technical support in completing repairs to electrical equipment and power distribution systems.
- Ensuring that Project controls and procedures are adhered to ensuring efficient receipt,
review and return of contractor electrical design deliverables - Interfacing with Operations and Contractor Engineering teams to progress the review and
acceptance of Contractor electrical deliverables - Ensuring effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between
electrical discipline and all other project participants
Typical duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: - Supporting the Concepts Engineering Managers in performance managing the contractor
to deliver the engineering scope for electrical discipline making appropriate use of
support groups available within ROO - Support with preparation of Engineering Service Requests (ESRs) and Project Initiation
Requests (PIRs) for works to be executed by engineering Contractors - Assist with study framing and stewardship
- Supervision and review of engineering contractor study scope and deliverables - Interface with ROO In-country teams
- Integration of studies with other ongoing study scopes and projects in execution
- Support with key technical decision making for ongoing study work
- Preparation, finalisation and gaining stakeholder agreement for Project Statement of Requirements (SORs) & Decision Support Papers (DSPs)
- Way forward planning & ensuring smooth handover/transition of scopes completed to Projects team
- Integration of Lessons Learnt from other studies
- Review of contractor electrical deliverables and responsibility for consolidating Company comments
- Provide electrical discipline expertise for conceptual design development, business
framing and long term strategic goals - Present key design outcomes and recommendations at project stage gate review sessions
- Facilitate Power Squad stakeholder meetings to keep abreast of concept development
studies - Prepare project initiation and engineering service requests to frame conceptual projects
and identify the set of required electrical deliverables - Represent the electrical discipline in multi-disciplinary reviews, workshops and risk
assessments - Review and make recommendation on technical queries pertaining to electrical discipline
- Collate electrical discipline input to formal engineering lessons learnt
- Input into ROO Electrical Power Strategy collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
- Performing technical due diligence on third party power providers prior to power purchase
agreements - Review and provide recommendation on suitability of contractor engineering resources
- Review Engineering Contractor scope of work and provide recommendations for man-
hour estimates on electrical discipline activities as required
Lead Electrical Engineer
M&E (OoC Team)
- Attend Operations / Contractor meetings and assist in resolving electrical engineering and management project issues
- Support Project Management to successfully deliver Project scopes Coordination and checking of electrical engineering deliverables
- Ensuring that the project team and Contractors adhere to the established Company
- - Requires regular contact with Operations and multiple Contractor personnel
- Reviewing, developing and maintaining customized data control set up system, which will enable multiple projects to achieve a tight and proper control of all the engineering related issues
- Liaising with DCC function to ensure accurate records are kept and maintained enabling the instant retrieval of documents required to support project delivery and handover to Major Projects
- Ensuring that Project Management of Change requirements are adhered to by Company and Contractors
- Liaise closely with site based Project Team members on all aspects of project execution including Contractor work coordination and timely document review to ensure that the Projects are completed and formally handed over on schedule
- Ensuring that personal HSSE Training minimum requirements are adhered to and maintained
- Active contribution and promotion of Company HSSE core values and vigorous participation in HSSE inputs
- Skills required for a Lead Electrical Engineer:
- The preferred candidate should hold a Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Electrical, Project, Engineering and management in the onshore hydrocarbon industry
- Experience at framing Project solutions at conceptual, Front End and detailed engineering level detail
- Experience with managing electrical discipline teams of diverse cultural backgrounds
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office software
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with documented experience of presenting technical materials to upper management teams
- Good understanding of the relevant engineering codes and standards
- Familiarity with HSSE Management systems and the application thereof
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities for successful project delivery
- Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of consistency, accuracy and quality is essential
- Chartered Membership of a relevant Professional Institution preferred
