Seeking a Field Engineer to come on board and assist major energy client providing support for a pipeline of specific projects happening across their NZ sites. The role will be based in Christchurch, however you will be required to support projects both in Christchurch and across multiple locations remotely. This will involve travel to company sites around NZ.

Primarily working in a Project Engineer/Manager capacity, you will assist the Engineering team to deliver a series of projects due to be completed across their sites over 2024/2025, from conceptual stage to project handover. Due to projects being geographically varied, we require you to have experience managing projects remotely. We also require experience working in Oil & Gas for an international business, so you are accustomed to the intricacies of this type of role including company Project Management systems and Project Controls.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage assigned projects from conceptual stage to project handover
  • Follow project management process to delivery project that meets the Small Project Management System, OIMS, CIMS, HCP, PQMS and other Company Standards
  • Compliance with OIMS requirements
  • Execute project free from injury, environmental and other incidents
  • Report all Loss / Near Loss
  • Compliance with CIMS requirements
  • Compliance of business ethics associated with works
  • Report of irregularities on Controls
To be successful in this role, we are seeking the following minimum requirements:
  • Chemical Engineering Degree
  • Experience working on projects including engineering, construction, project controls, and project management activities.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience with further experience managing projects remotely.
  • Understanding of OIMS and CIMS.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational, planning and co-ordination skills
  • High degree of personal accountability and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Enthusiastic and a good team player
This role will be in a fixed term capacity for an initial duration of 2 years from the start date, and the successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours a week but with the willingness to work overtime when required. Rates of pay will depend on experience and between $40 - $45 per hour.
