Process Technician, Qatar (Methane/Ammonia Plant) / Qatar

Chemical client based in Qatar is looking to hire a " Process Technician", to work alongside the Shift Engineer. 

The incumbent is required to operate the field equipments in the assigned production units comprising of Butamer and PSA, Oleflex, CCR Unit, ORU, CSP Unit, OSBL facilities and storage spheres to have safe and reliable plant operation. Regularly check the equipments / guages / indicators / record parameter deviations and report to the Process Controller / Shift Engineer. 


 Job Responsibilities: 

1. Maintain process stability at all times by close surveillance of operating conditions, reporting to Shift Engineer and take quick and decisive actions in emergencies following SOP and work instructions. 

2. Check readings and alarms on the field instruments / local panel and report abnormalities or deviations to Control Room and Shift Engineer. 

3. Receive chemicals and unload LCO road tankers. Collect samples or raw materials / intermediate equipments and cleaning strainers. 


Qualifications and Experience 

1. Graduate from technical school, Technical diploma from a recognized institute

2. 7 years relevant plant operational experience as field process technician in a large MTBE petrochemical plant. Experience should include training in and exposure to the following areas of plant operations: Butamer & PSA, Oleflex, CCR Unit, ORU, CSP Unit and OSBL including storage spheres. 


Technical Knowledge
Demonstrated technical and working knowledge of the following significant activities related to MTBE Production, a) Isomerisation process, b) De-hydrogenation process, c) Cold Seperation process, d) MTBE Synthesis, e) High/Medium pressure steam generation, f) CCR Operation, g) Operation of large capacity compressors, turbines, pumps  h) LOTO of electrical equipments 


Candidates must have direct experience in Methanol and Ammonia Plant
