Project Engineer 4 (Electrical / Instrument)
Our client, a joint venture company and leading gas producer in Algeria is looking for an experienced E&I Project Engineer to join the team on a long-term (2 years+) contract basis.
This is a 28/28 Rota expatriate assignment.
Role & Responsibilities
* The Project Engineer 4 will be responsible for the overall management of designated brownfield modification and upgrade projects.
* Manage a portfolio of electrical and/or instrument and control systems modifications.
* Identify material requirements, initiate, and follow up of procurement.
* Facilitate assessments for design and construction.
* Interface with Technical Authorities on scope of requirement and technical standards.
* Interface with EPC Contractor.
* Interface with the construction department.
* Input to detailed plan for modifications.
* Maintain job specific forecasting mechanism to reflect budget status.
* Prepare estimates for new works and progress funding.
* Track commitments and expenditure.
* Manage cost performance against agreed budgets.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar.
* 10 years' experience as an engineer within instrumentation, control systems or electrical discipline in the upstream oil and gas sector, ideally working for a mix of EPC Contractors and E&P Operators.
* 5-7 years' experience in project engineer and execution in the upstream oil and gas sector, ideally working for a mix of EPC Contractors and E&P Operators.
* Working knowledge of industry standards, design, construction, operation and maintenance for the systems and equipment used in the upstream oil and gas sector.
* Demonstrable experience in project and operations planning principles and systems.
* Team player, committed to building good working relationships.
* Fluency in English is mandatory.
* Some proficiency in French would be highly advantageous.
