Introduction
We are currently on the search for a Health and Safety Consultant to work for a leading global mining business with a strong presence in Western Australia. Committed to excellence in safety and operational performance, they are currently seeking a HSE specialist to join their team in Kwinana on a 6-month contract basis.
About this role:
As a Health and Safety Consultant, you will provide invaluable expertise and support to our client's operations in Perth. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with local legislative requirements while driving initiatives to enhance health and safety performance. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a critical area of our client's business.Duties:Offer comprehensive health and safety advice and leadership to operating center management and the workforce.Collaborate with line organizations to monitor, review, and enhance departmental health and safety performance.Manage and support the development and implementation of key health and safety initiatives and projects.Conduct location-level health and safety audits, ensuring documentation and corrective actions are promptly addressed.Lead teams and individuals on various health and safety projects and activities within the department.Establish and maintain a network of health and safety contacts across the organization, attending regular forums to ensure consistency and resource optimization.Provide expert support during investigations of significant incidents and assist in developing preventive measures.Develop and deliver training programs tailored to meet the needs of our operations and comply with legislative standards.Stay updated on current company and legislative standards, providing guidance to ensure compliance and develop relevant procedures.What you need to bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.Proven experience in providing health and safety advice and support within a mining or industrial environment.In-depth knowledge of relevant legislative requirements and industry best practices.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Experience in conducting audits, investigations, and delivering training programs.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Relevant certifications such as Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (desirable).You must be currently based in Australia with current right to work to be considered for this roleBenefits:
