Our client, an oil and gas operator, requires a Lead Reservoir Engineer to join the team on a contract basis
Purpose of Role:
• Reservoir Engineer within the Subsurface & Resource Maturation team
• Support company level forecasting processes
• Track corporate Reserves
• Support the annual CPR process, including QC of shared subsurface characterisations
• Communicate details of forecasts, Reserves and project maturation plans, to senior management
• Support opportunity hopper products & activities
• Supporting corporate activities as required
• Sets department goals and processes to achieve them
• Creates vision/purpose within team
• Mentor, develop and lead more junior subsurface staff
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
• Responsible for presentation and review of consolidated forecasts, with QC of same
• Understanding/learning the principles of PRMS and helping apply these for company assessments
• Support prioritisation of opportunities for valuation and other portfolio management activity
• Any reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager
Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc:
Core Technical Experience
• Well-developed technical skill set
• The ability to work influentially and respectfully with many multi-disciplinary teams
• Sound working knowledge of industry software packages
• Experience of production forecasting for business planning & Reserves purposes
• Experience of presenting to senior management preferred
• Data analytics skills would be an advantage
• Broad understanding of core aspects of reservoir engineering e.g. field development, simulation, material balance, pressure transient analysis, fluid properties, decline curve analysis, reserve evaluations.
Qualifications
• MSc in reservoir/petroleum engineering or a related subject.
