A global leader in the energy sector requires services of an ER/IR Specialist. This permanent position will be situated within their Brisbane-based team. The role necessitates on-site presence from Monday to Friday, encompassing a daily working commitment of 10 hours.
Position Overview:
Functionally reporting to the National Industrial Relations Manager and operationally reporting to the Project Director, the ER/IR Specialist holds a strategic position in supporting the energy transition project team. This role plays a critical role in managing employee relations effectively, mitigating industrial risks, and enhancing overall project productivity.

This role plays a critical role in managing employee relations effectively, mitigating industrial risks, and enhancing overall project productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert support across all levels of employee relations, ensuring high productivity, engagement, and safety within the project team.
- Collaborate with our clients Corporate HR/IR Team on project and company-wide HR/IR matters.
- Act as a focal point for daily industrial relations issues, attending pre-starts to support the Project site leadership team.
- Keep the project team informed of relevant ER/IR legislative developments and case law.
- Foster strong relationships with client ER/IR counterparts, unions, and key stakeholders.
- Deliver presentations on employee relations/industrial relations matters to clients and senior management.
- Offer first-point advice to Key Managers on industrial agreements, awards, policies, dispute resolution, and employment legislation.
- Manage subcontractor audits against ERMP KPIs and industrial relations risks.
- Oversee right of entry union requests/visits and manage workplace investigations independently.
- Develop and implement proactive industrial relations strategies for significant project changes.
- Degree qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or Business
- 7+ years of HR/IR experience, preferably in oil & gas, mining, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience in presenting and conducting HR/ER content for inductions.
- In-depth understanding of Australia's Industrial Relations framework.
- Proven ability to connect HR/IR decisions/actions with commercial outcomes.
- Experience in project ER/IR work, including mobilization and demobilization phases.
