The Subsea Integration (SI) team currently manage three contracts, Baker Hughes for the design and supply of the Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) manifold and subsea tie in spools, Nexans for the design, manufacture, and installation of the HV power cable systems, and Saipem for all transport and installation scopes, including the hook up of the FCS and mooring system which is termed Offshore Installation Contract (OIC).
The OIC scope is diverse and has been split into nine clearly defined Work Packages.

These can be broadly split into: -
1. FCS Mooring and HU
2. Subsea Compression Station and BH Manifold and subsea tie in Spools
3. MV Umbilical's and crossings
4. Pre-Commissioning.

Position Description / Scope of Work

The Client has an exciting opportunity for a Subsea Project Engineer to join the J-IC Team. Reporting to the SCMS Senior Engineer, this role will be based in Perth.

The Subsea Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting the client team with detailed engineering and delivery support of the subsea manifold (SCMS), pig launcher (SSPLR), seabed tie-in spools and associated connection systems and tooling, ensuring the engineering deliverables meet the Company and project requirements. The role will also provide support for the fabrication, installation and commissioning teams.

Key Accountabilities

• Liaise with the SCMS Senior Engineer to validate and assess progress and capture key threats to the execution schedule.
• Apply safety in design principles to the subsea hardware, including consideration of safety through the fabrication, testing, installation and operation phases, and ensure the safety principles are adhered to by the Subsea Equipment Vendors (SEV).
• Responsible for technical assurance associated with the detailed design of the subsea hardware, inclusive of SEV document reviews, technical queries, interfaces and risks, ensuring specifications and requirements are adhered to and providing Company approvals where required.
• Provide expert technical advice on the subsea manifolds and tie-in systems, including fabrication, testing, delivery and installation, maintaining quality and technical integrity.
• Management of interfaces and risks associated with the subsea hardware packages.
• Input into development of manufacture, fabrication, testing and delivery of subsea hardware packages.
• Representing Chevron in SEV audits and workshops as required.
• Interface with SEV to build collaborative relationships.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university or equivalent technical qualification.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar capacity (subsea hardware) in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience working with SEV’s
• Understanding of and application experience with API codes specifically API 17A, 17D, 17H, 17P, 17R, 17Q and 17N and associated subsea valve hardware specifications.
• Understanding and application experience with DNV-ST-F101 spool designs and ASME B31.8 subsea manifold piping design.
• Structure / Foundation and piping design of subsea manifolds.
• Knowledge of subsea valve design, manufacture and testing.
• Understanding of the principles of quality management systems, fabrication qualification processes and inspection techniques related to specialty fabrication projects.
• Fabrication site and testing experience specifically relating to subsea hardware.
