Do you have experience in Offshore Wind industry and want to lead a team responsible for electrical work scope in offshore wind projects?

We are recruiting an Electrical Project Manager to join the client's Offshore Wind team on a staff basis. This role offers flexible remote working, with regular travel required to our hubs in London, The Hague, Copenhagen and Madrid. Remote working will be supported in this role, however you must be within commutable distance of one of our Offshore Wind offices in Aberdeen, London, The Hague, Madrid or Copenhagen.

My client has made a firm commitment to support the energy transition, and central to this is delivering on renewable energy generation. In order to facilitate this business level initiative, we’re rapidly expanding our capabilities within the offshore wind and power offtakes sector and establishing an offshore wind Centre of Excellence. Green Hydrogen is becoming an integral component of our offer to our customers, due to the difficulties for firm grid access or power curtailments in some regions. Their broader ambitions in the offshore renewable space extend from early-stage concept and feasibility through to delivering full EPC and EPCI packages.

Role Overview:
This is a dynamic role that will require not only a broad technical understanding of process type projects but also a willingness to work differently. Clients will be predominantly in UK & Ireland, and the rest of Europe. As a fast-growing entity within the group, the offshore wind team will be looking to deliver projects using innovative business models and utilising existing, and developing new, digital solutions and design automation.

Key Aims and Objectives:
  • Leading the management of risks, program, budget, and quality
  • Being accountable for the project controls that ensure timely delivery of the assigned deliverables against the project schedule, within budget and to the required level of quality
You will be responsible for:
  • Leading a team responsible for electrical work scope in offshore wind projects with a focus on performance requirements tailored to meet the expectations of clients
  • Lead the team via virtual media and create a team that works towards common goal
  • Managing key technical interfaces between the various systems where the electrical package has deliverables including managing and collaborating with the system studies team to assess impact on the transmission grid
  • Manage changes in scope in a controlled manner, assess their impact on project scope, schedule, budget, and risks
  • Taking a leading role in proposal teams for EPC(i) proposals for offshore substations

To be successful you will:
  • Be a highly experienced project manager with extensive relevant work experience on technically complex and high-value High Voltage projects
  • Have exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with proven ability to work on complex technical projects and leading multidisciplinary and culturally varied teams
  • Have documented experience with transmission projects its influence on operation, and performance of a transmission system including the design, configuration, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of offshore wind transmission systems
  • Have experience in Offshore Wind industry.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Essential:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
  • Current and demonstrable experience with HV cable works, HV substations or correlated construction activities as well as project management principles
  • Good organizational skills and a structured working approach with an eye for details while at the same time keeping the large overview
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
