The client is seeking a Contracts Landmen for a long-term contract in Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support Canada’s mineral assets, including:
- Maintaining accurate and current land files
- Maintaining accurate and timely data in land system
- Timely drafting and execution of quality land agreements, and ensuring compliance with contractual provisions
- Proactively reviewing files for lands on which activity is contemplated during the current year
- Processing third party NOAs, A&Ns and Assignments and timely updating of land system
- Responding to and resolving queries with respect to our lands both internally and externally
- Accurate and timely handling of AFE/Independent Operations Notices, ROFR/Abandonment Notices, mineral requests, ADP OPI forms, well linking, accounting logs
- Ensuring processes are in place and followed to optimize data accuracy in land system and in data provided to support internal approvals, external approvals, divestitures, Joint Ventures and other project specific data confirmation requests, including compliance with Corporate Controls requirements
- Conducting semi-annual review of acreage reporting and sign-off; and
- Providing timely and accurate analysis of all areas related to A&D activity
- Integrate Mineral Land with key stakeholders, including:
- Provide support and expertise to the mineral negotiators, asset team members, field personnel, partners, royalty holders, finance, business development and legal.
- Continue to look for ways to support cost efficiency initiatives by collaborating in facilitating recovery or avoidance of costs because of allocation of responsibility to third parties.
- Work with applicable Finance groups to enhance Mineral Land contribution to recovery of overriding royalties, outstanding receivables and optimization of overheads and freehold lease deductions to which the organization is entitled.
- Collaborate with Canada Land and North American Land teams
- Business degree, preferably, Petroleum Land Management
- Must be a highly organized, detail oriented, strong communicator and strategic thinker that exhibits critical decision-making ability
- Exceptional ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
- Display a professional, enthusiastic, and participative attitude towards the business unit goals and objectives
- Experience with Landworks
- Proficient with regulatory regime and its interplay with contract agreements
- Strong knowledge of land agreements and CAPL documents
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Mineral Contracts Role
