Contract: Senior Instrument Technician / Lac La Biche

The valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking a Senior Instrument Technician to join their busy SAGD operations (Just Northeast of Lac La Biche, AB) on a contract basis (End of 2022 with the option for extension).

In this role, you will have significant accountability for the operation and maintenance of facilities.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?

• Oversee and coordinate all daily instrumentation maintenance activities
• Provide leadership & mentorship to contractor instrumentation trade group
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize instrumentation and controls
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on various analyzers, SCADA systems, and computer based electronic and pneumatic systems
• Provide hands-on support from control system troubleshooting through to value repairs
• Provide support and expertise to the Kirby operations team and various process groups
• Ensure all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and documented per regulatory requirements in assigned areas
• Participate in preventive maintenance, procedure development, and spare parts requirements
• Update, mark-up, and create P&IDs, Instrument Index, Data sheets, and electrical drawings
• Assist with CM / TA / Project scope planning
• Maintain tools, calibration equipment, PCs, vehicle, and other test equipment in a secure and usable manner

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Typically, 5+ years of experience in oil and gas with a Journeyman Instrument Mechanic Certificate
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Familiarity with and understanding of:
  • Delta V DCS
  • Regulatory measurement
  • SAGD Operations
