Job Title: Laboratory Technician - Elastomers (PB2)

Job Summary
The lab technician will perform functions pertaining to developing new rubber compounds including preparing and testing rubber samples.   The position reports to the Manager of Seals and Materials Center of Excellence.  It supports the Drilling Solutions business of HMH providing critical well-control equipment.

 

Essential Responsibilities

• Testing of rubber samples per standard operating procedures
• Performing mixing of rubber compounds in a lab mixer and lab mill
• Recording and documenting results and accurately compiling data
• Collecting and accurately weighing ingredients
• Performing sample preparation including cutting and stamping samples
• Curing of samples in lab presses
• Ensuring proper labeling and good organization of all specimens

 

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a field related to chemistry, engineering, life sciences
• Good teamwork and communication skills

• Familiarity with Instron and DMA instruments, LN2 and microscopes
