We are currently sourcing a Project Engineer with extensive experience in Procurement who will be responsbile for analyzing technical data to identify and determine neccessary equipment specific to the need of projects onsite. The role will be on a FIFO roster that will involve long swings onsite but will come with a competitive salary and exciting challenges.

- Devising, implementing and overseeing procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets
- Proper legal and contractual compliance is handled through procurement transactions
- Analyzing and then identifying suppliers to select the most suitable who will be capable of delivering high quality products at a competitive price
- Negotiating with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality
- Managing all procurement and expediting activities
- Evaluating eqiuipment suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreements
- Performing regular performance reviews with suppliers
- Preparation of project progress and performance reports as well as project procurement updates
- Reviewing and managing supplier base to ensure sourcing strategy is consistent
- High level of organization skills
- High proficiency in computer applications including ERP systems, MS office
- Strong knowledge of relevant standards & legislation in both Engineering and WHS
- Strong negotiation skills
- Critical thinker and problem solving ability
- Extensive experience in delivery of capital projects - Planning to Handover
- Engineering or Business degree or diploma - ESSENTIAL
- Qualification in Project Manager - DESIRABLE
- Formal training in supply chain, logistics and membership with a recognized chartered or professional institution is advantageous
