Job description

The client within the renewables sector is looking for an experienced Wind Commercial Manager for development, construction, operation and management of cost effective renewable energy generation in Europe.

Position - Wind Commercial Manager

Job Type - Freelance contract (possibility of a direct contract)

Start date - January/ February 2021

Role Summary

This is a newly created role, due to growth within the company. They're looking for an experienced commercial manager with demonstrated technical acumen and experience in the renewable energy industry (wind industry preferred).

Key responsibilities are:

  • Manage and lead procurement and sale processes and contracts. These include Supply & Installation contracts with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Power Purchase Agreements, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts, Operation & Maintenance Agreements and Professional Services contracts
  • Develop and issue Requests for Proposals (RFP) and manage the whole RFP process.
  • Prepare detailed analysis and advice on current and best practice to support strategic decision making on both commercial items and contractual agreements.
  • Provide regular monitoring of contractual compliance requirements and ensure adherence and conformance of contract delivery requirements and terms.
  • Establish strong and constructive relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Degree qualified - it could be in Engineering, Commercial Law, Finance, QS or Science.
  • Has a sound understanding of various forms of contracts and supply agreements and experience working closely with stakeholders in the resolution of disputes.
  • Has a solid understanding of risk and risk management strategies in a contract environment.
  • Has advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilities.
