An oil and gas major are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Paris on a significant multi billion dollar project.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for interface with Partners in respect of financial matters
• Liaise with Partners and Regulatory Authority in accounting matters
• Prepare and distribute monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and cash calls to Partners in accordance to the JOA
• Prepare and submit cost recovery reports in line with the requirements of the EPCC
• Prepare materials for Subcommittees, and when applicable report the result of Partner interactions to the Operating Committee Meeting
• Management and monitoring of the Project Development Budget for any approved project or investment
• Provide financial reporting and technical accounting support, including ensuring appropriate accounting treatments are adopted (transaction analysis, memorandums on accounting approaches etc) in line with IFRS and group financial reporting guidance as necessary
• Support and implement financial reporting and accounting process enhancements and help to strengthen the financial control framework for all the Project
• Participate in JV partners audits
• Lead finance relationship with other internal Finance teams and manage integration with other businesses (C&P, HR, Project services…)
• Lead and coordinate the performance and documentation of SOX controls in his/her scope of responsibility
• Assist in establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting assertion
• Support Accounting System development and integration projects as needed
• Responsible for storage, proper management and archiving of Finance records on JV matters
• Ensure compliance to the JOA/PSC and shareholders agreements
• Ensure implementation of new projects or entities
• Guarantee the respect of the deadline in our engagements with Partners and Shareholders
Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics is required
• Excellent Knowledge of generally accepted Accounting, Local GAAP, IFRS and Tax principles.
• 10 years or more sound experience in a similar role, preferably in an Oil and Gas environment
• Large Experience with SAP and SOX requirements
• Minimum 5-10 years’ work experience in Oil and Gas industry is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fluent in English. A mastering of the Portuguese language will be a plus
