The client is currently looking for a Construction Project Advisor to work on a 1-year contract in North Bay, ON. Must be local or have own accommodations as LOA is not provided.

- Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Territory is Orillia to North Bay to Sudbury to Sault Ste Marie
- Project management accountabilities for complex major reinforcement/replacement projects requiring interactions with OEB, MOE, MOL and periodically will include the management of the construction phase
- Interact/negotiate with other utilities, municipalities, developers, consultants and Distribution Operations/other functional groups, to resolve utility conflicts using the cost avoidance approach
- Complete and/or coordinate detailed pre- construction review, analysis and pricing of all construction projects
- Work with Construction Superintendent and Alliance Partner to assess scope changes, address invoice resolutions and variance reporting
- Work closely with Alliance Partner to effectively develop, communicate and coordinate the scheduling of projects
- Maintain and manage the capital project tracking system for scheduling and financial analysis
- Provide backup to Construction Superintendent and other construction and growth roles
- Coordinate and implement potential cost savings initiatives/technologies at a district level
- Post-secondary education (Engineering- Mechanical/Civil) CET, or five years’ work related construction experience
- Strong interpersonal and team skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Effective negotiating skills required
- Ability to manage and coordinate individual capital projects financials
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects at a time and meet defined turnaround times • Proficient computer skills required (Microsoft Suite) • Proven ability to create reports/queries based on corporate databases • Current valid driver’s license and maintenance of a responsible driving record
