Contract: Senior Architectural Engineer / Qatar

Position Title: Sr. Architectural Engineer
Reports to: Head of QPD Projects, PIQ/1
Directorate / Dept.: Projects, Engineering & Procurement Services /Infrastructure & Civil Projects

Primary Purpose of the Job Discipline Technical Authority, on behalf of Discipline Lead. Provide technical support to projects. Provide technical design and engineering services in the area of discipline engineering for all assigned engineering projects and ad-hoc support, in order to achieve the required technical quality and integrity of work while considering project objectives in terms of safety, time and cost.  
 
Principal Accountabilities

1. As discipline engineer responsible for provision of the required quality technical services.
2. Carry-out Concept definition and engineering studies, design, scopes and preparation of engineering documents as per approved standards / procedures.
3. Verify and sign-off technical designs and bids in accordance with approved standards.
4. Deliver timely service to meet the project requirements.
5. Advise and support in the discipline engineering matters in the area of expertise through all stages of projects.
6. Plan and co-ordinate activities of a team of engineers for providing technical services to project executing departments, including review of execution strategies.
7. Support discipline head/lead to manage QP discipline standards. Participate in technical assurance and standardisation activities to ensure compliance to approved discipline standards.
8. Approve / endorse technical deviations / waivers/ variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
9. Support to ensure that all applicable environmental and process and other safety technical policies are fully implemented.
10. Support development of competencies and skills in his area including structured training for Qatari Engineers under development.

 Decision Making Authority

1. Review and approve technical deliverables with respect to quality, safety of designs to the required standards.
2. Support timely allocation of appropriate personnel to projects.
3. Responsible for design, drawing and engineering documents in his discipline area.

 Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience

1. Bachelor degree in discipline engineering
2. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
3. 10 years relevant post graduate experience, of which 6 years in Oil & Gas industry.
4. Skill / knowledge of International, Shell DEPs and/or QP standards related to his area of expertise.
5. Experience of managing time, cost and quality in engineering projects within multiple project environment.
6. Good Communications and Presentation skills and be fluent in English.
