The client in Saudi Arabia is currently looking for an Engineering Manager for their office in Jubail. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the engineering design estimates, present & explain proposals, prepare budgets & subcontracts, set goals and perform administrative functions ensuring assignments are completed efficiently within the budget. He will direct, coordinate and plan activities related to plant and equipment engineering and design activities for EPC jobs.
Function description
- Provides technical and managerial direction for projects requiring design engineering and technical expertise in Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation disciplines;
- Coordinates with project management, fabrication shop, and marketing staff on project specifications and execution procedures;
- Provides and reviews information, documentation and give expert advice for management consideration on projects and technical matters involving engineering concepts and principles;
- Provides engineering input during estimation phase of an EPC project like BOQ, Equipment and E&I specifications;
- Supports fabrication shop during estimation and execution phases for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, structural fabrication, skids and other workshop fabricated items;
- Review and write technical specifications, evaluating technical bids and making decisions pertaining to the purchase of project materials and services;
- Manages and directs the field engineering during installation and testing phases of the project;
- Analyzes know how & resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects;
- Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical works performed across the company;
- Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities and participating in professional organizations;
- Ensures compliance with company policy, procedures and legislation;
- Improve the company’s profitability and departmental contribution by efficient control of engineering expenditure through efficient management.
Requirements
Ideal candidate should have/be:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- With minimum 15 years of design engineering experience;
- Experience in Plant engineering both brown and green fields plus engineering related to equipment manufacturing fabrication shop;
- Preferrably with EPC experience;
- Experience with Sabic & Armco projects is highly preferred.
- Able to manage engineering budget and P&L;
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of project engineering planning and process optimization;
- Fluency in English & Arabic.
