Offshore Planning Engineer
Job Description:
- The role will require the Planning engineer to support the development and integration of schedules from projects through Optimise stage through to Execute
- To coordinate all planning activity for various scopes within the GPO Offshore portfolio of work, by providing the functional planning interface between Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Offshore Installation and the Central Planning Team.
- Support the Planning Lead to deliver contract and functional objectives across a portfolio of GPO projects.
- Communicate with OPS Area and Functional Planning groups at the detailed-planning level for Brownfield or interface scope
- Work closely with the project Cost team to ensure costs phasing and forecasting aligns with the current control schedule
- Ensure contractor compliance with contractual planning, scheduling and reporting requirements detailed within the Project Coordination Procedures (PCP).
- Oversee Contractor schedule, progress measurement and reporting, ensuring implementation of Contractors' contractual requirements (review and comment Schedule Development and Control Plans, schedules, outputs, reporting).
- Day to Day use of Primavera P-6
- Produce good quality, robust, salient & succinct written reports and summary presentations - able to use key points vision skills to communicate clarity from complexity.
- Input into the pinch point schedules and milestones for the Monthly Integrated Schedule slides.
- Develop and maintain project specific MCS, progress measurement systems, prepare inputs into weekly, monthly reports and DPM data base.
- Support the Offshore Planning Lead by maintaining the offshore elements of the Integrated plan.
- Support Offshore planning Lead in project completion forecasting, trending analyses, what if scenarios preparations, to support PM and PGM to make informed decision.
- Support the SRA process during project gates & 6 monthly MCE schedule reviews across the offshore projects.
- Provide/prepare the MCS and re-baseline supporting PACN / MOC process.
- Develop presentation summaries and other "ad hoc" planning reports.
- Adhere to Projects Common Process (PCP).
- Contribute to the compilation of weekly / monthly reports.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Nationals (Azerbaijani only)
- Degree in Business or Engineering
- Minimal 10 years construction planning experience on Oil & Gas projects.
- Proven track record of successfully working as part of a team of planning engineers in a project environment, supporting the development of others in the team.
- Substantial experience interfacing and working with construction, commissioning, engineering and operations personnel.
- Significant experience working with internationally-based contractors.
- Experience and demonstrable track record of being able to communicate planning information clearly to senior management and put in context of the overall project status to enable quality decision making (clarity from complexity).
- Membership or Chartered Status of a recognised professional body
- Proven track record of working with regional, functional and global project team members with ability to work in a collaborative environment.
