Contract: Rigger - $42.75 per day / South Africa

Rigger - SA - Cape Town

We are looking for a Rigger to work on board a DP3 Pipe-Lay/ Construction vessel currently operating in Cape Town. The Rigger will report directly to the Chief Officer / Duty Deck Officer / Rigger Foreman /Project Leader

Due to local regulations we are looking for candidates who are holding South African citizenship or South African Trade Certificate.

• Vessel Type: DP3 Pipe-Lay/ Construction
• Location: Cape Town
• Rotation: 12 WKS on/ 6 WKS off
• Mobilisation: ASAP
• Day Rate: 42.75 USD

Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Rigger
• Washing down the vessel externally.
• Internal cleanliness of specified areas during watch periods.
• Night watches in Port as required.
• Manning mooring stations as required.
• Working with other departments as instructed by the Chief Officer.
• Preparation and painting of vessel as required.
• Lashing and securing the deck cargo or equipment on deck.
• Assisting in the connection & disconnection of telescopic gangway as required.
• Maintenance of all rigging gear as required.

We're looking for a candidate holding the following certificates:

• STCW Medical Cert
• BOSIET or FOET or HUET (Huet Must have BST/ STCW's)
• Passport
• Seamans Book
• Yellow Fever
• Rigging Certificate
• Appraisal

And the following personal qualities:

• Clear and effective oral and written communications skills in English language.
• Good knowledge and understanding of principle discipline.
• Total commitment to working safely.
