Rigging Superintendent responsible for managing safe and efficient lifting or transfer operations in accordance with Company Policy, Quality Safety & Environmental Management System, and International Standards, also to preserve the function of our physical assets throughout their life period to the satisfaction of international standards through continued process improvement, selecting and applying the most cost-effective techniques along with proactively preventing and managing failures and their consequences”
- Management of staff, including allocation of daily duties, competency training.
- Support the Production & Project Managers with planning maximizing utilization & performance of department resources.
- Support the Human Resources Department with effective recruitment, selection & training of personnel within IMI.
- Continuous review of operating procedures and processes within the department.
- Work closely with HSE to engineer out potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment, for all employees.
- Assist with R&D to ensure technological advancements are properly evaluated for improved ROI where ever practical.
- Ensure that Rigging Hardware & associated equipment are maintained & inspected in accordance with Company Policy and Quality Safety Management System.
- Ensure that Lifting & Rigging Equipment registers are kept up to date in all departments.
- Review and confirm that all safety & operational requirements are completed & checked prior to conducting any lifting or transfer operation.
- Work closely with Maintenance Department planning equipment service and re-certification as required.
- Qualifications related to lifting operations, with 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role within shipbuilding or equivalent industry. Computer proficient with strong leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, across a broad range of technologies and implement training programs.
- Understanding of Engineering, planning & executing of lifting services in accordance with international lifting standards & practice (Example: LOLER). Knowledge of ERP systems & Asset Management Systems
- English will be the primary form of communication, willingness to learn another language would be an advantage
- Well-developed presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- proficient with Microsoft Office suite and at least a PM tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Resilient under stress and capable of managing competing priorities.
