Management

  • Provide project management and leadership for FPU topsides covering detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand over to field operation team
  • Report cost, schedule, progress, and technical issues to FPU Lead
  • Lead the FPU topsides team from FEED to start-up including delivery of FPU contract requirements
  • Develop resource plans within available budgets to deliver Topsides on budget and schedule
  • Accountable for project risks and mitigation plans for Topsides
  • Define, monitor and manage work tasks with external consultants and contractors
  • Ensure implementation of Project 'digital' requirements for the Topsides activities

Technical

  • During the FEED phase, support Engineering in completing FEED design deliverables through regular interaction, timely review of documents and proactive monitoring of engineering performance against schedule.
  • During Detailed Engineering and Execution phases, supervise and control the FPU Topsides detailed engineering activities
  • Accountable for managing procurement activities together with ENGINEER including technical and functional specifications, bid evaluation, clarifications and award, surveillance of supplier progress, quality, deliverables and production, FAT and as-built vendor documentation.
  • Support all activities related to compliance with regulatory requirements (CFR) in particular with BSEE and USCG.
  • Ensure all the appropriate technical documentation related to Topsides is validated, maintained, as-built and handed over to Field Operations.
  • Participate in meetings with FPU contractors
  • Support the Hull and Mooring Lead in preparing for the Topside integration (lifting) operation
  • Accountable for any carry over work at the final preparation yard and/or offshore.

Tendering phase

  • Prepare and draft all necessary contracts or ITT documents related to Topsides elements.
  • Actively participate in the clarifications and negotiations with Tenderers for Topsides related activities in the contract(s) to select the associated Fabrication Contractor.
  • Actively participate in the evaluation and analysis of the different offers issued from the Tenderers during tender phase.

Interfaces

  • Provide effective leadership in identification and resolution of internal and external interfaces around the Topsides system perimeters.
  • Ensure that technical interfaces are properly defined in due time and properly interpreted / implemented by the FPU engineering contractor.
  • Ensure identification and resolution of detailed interface issues in an efficient and cost-effective manner

HSSE

  • Ensure that all Topsides activities are performed in compliance with a high regard to Health, Safety, Security and Environmental requirements
  • Provide leadership within FPU Package for all HSSE performance and compliance
  • Ensure that HSSE issues are correctly handled within FPU technical documentation for Topsides systems.
  • Ensure that an adequate risk management process is visible and implemented.

Quality

  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in compliance with a high regard to Quality Assurance and Control.
  • Implement an appropriate QA/QC plan for all procurement and construction activities linked to Topsides.
  • Participate in project reviews as requested
  • Continuously seek ways to maximize the value of the project through higher quality, productivity and technical definition

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Advanced engineering qualifications and internationally recognized professional / chartered engineer status is preferred

Minimum Experience: 15+ years roles in Project Management positions for topsides engineering and delivery with a proven track record in engineering and construction positions. A minimum of 10 years in senior engineering roles.

  • Semi-Submersible Platform Topsides Lead- expert level of knowledge and experience
  • Structural or mechanical - expert level of knowledge
  • Instrument, Control and Safety Systems - High level of knowledge
  • Deep water developments - proficient level of experience
  • Safe working practice in fabrication yards and offshore construction projects - proficient level of knowledge and experience
  • Proficient organizational ability and performance bias
  • Strong communication skills
