Senior Drilling Engineer / MENA Region

Job Description
We are currently recruiting for Drilling clients in the MENA region and will be looking for “Senior Drilling Engineer” Land Rigs.

Contract (28/28) travel day paid.

Key purpose

• Prepares Drilling Programs for each well. 
• Prepares changes to the programs in the event of unscheduled events, i.e. Squeeze procedures, side-track procedures, temporary abandonment procedures. 
• Prepares post-well appraisal reports.
• Assists Drilling Supervisor with the implementation of casing running and cementing programs. 
• Reviews final casing and cementing reports prepared by Drilling Supervisors.
• Reviews and recommends changes to cementing contractor proposals.

Technical requirements

• Broad-based drilling knowledge - familiar with directional, extended-reach, horizontal, multi-lateral, and workover operations.
• Able to harness practical experience to maximum advantage in support of day-to-day rig activities.
• Able to focus engineering and analytical capacity on specific areas of operation to improve overall efficiency - e.g. “drilling the limit” philosophy

Financial Authority

• Support day-to-day cost monitoring as it relates to service contract utilization. 

Management/influence

• Supports team efforts as needed in interaction with Engineering Manager, Operations Supervisors and Subsurface team contacts.

Education & experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Likely to hold Well Control Certificate
• 10+ years’ experience of both rig-based and office support functions, including overseas land-based assignments
• May have experience as Drilling Supervisor, Production Engineer and/or Tool pusher
