Senior Project Manager – German Speaking / Germany

THE ROLE

I am seeking a Senior Project Manager in the Building Construction industry who has fluent English, German useful but not essential to join a firm of construction consultants working on projects across Germany.

Your location in Germany is immaterial as long as you are willing to travel as required to see Architects, other consultants, contractors, sites etc.

You will run numerous construction projects for an international client working on hotel refurbishments, rebranding and some new build across Germany.

You will deal with projects from inception to completion and you should also have a good understanding of budgets etc.

Some visits to the UK may also be required.

THE COMPANY

My client is a firm of construction consultants working closely with large clients on offices, retail, hotels, residential, industrial and other projects for new build, extensions, refurbishment and fit out.

They work on building construction projects across the U.K. and now in Germany doing both cost management and project management.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Senior Project Manager in the construction industry with fluent English. German language skills would certainly be useful but as the client is an international firm it is not essential.

You will need to have a Degree or Diploma in a Construction / built environment subject and have good previous project management experience ideally gained with another firm of consultants.

You may also be MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or similarly qualified.

You should be able to take the clients’ brief, select consultants, chair meetings, take minutes, deal with the client, the professional team and the contractors and make sure that projects are run on time and within budget. You will ideally have used MS Project or similar and understand the whole construction process from inception to completion.

You should be able to take responsibility for the whole project and be able to lead a number of projects on your own.

You will need to have at least five years or more experience as a Project Manager and have ideally previously worked in Germany to be familiar with German construction contracts or elsewhere in Europe including the U.K.

Excellent prospects for ambitious candidates to join a British firm of consultants who will be opening an office in Germany.

You can be based anywhere in Germany as long as you are prepared to travel.

Salary in the range of Euro 60000 to 80000 per annum plus bonus and other benefits.
