A Fantastic Contractual Job Opportunity for an experienced Expediting Officer to be part of the Supply Department of a major oil and gas company based in Qatar.
To qualify, candidate must have the following qualification and experience:
Qualifications
· Bachelor degree in Engineering, Science, Commercial discipline or equivalent.
Knowledge and/or Experience
· 4 years’ direct experience in logistics/procurement within the oil and gas industry.
Technical and Business Skills
· High standard of written and spoken English.
· Excellent in written and spoken English.
· Computer literacy (MS Office) including the use of software applications, including SAP.
· Planning and target delivery skills.
· Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with internal/external clients.

Job Description – Expediting Officer Part A: Job Specification Job Purpose
- Produce professional expediting and logistics services and develop solutions for critical decisions that have high value impact on the organization.
Reporting and Relationships
- Reports to Expeditor Supervisor/Section Lead.
Internal
- Frequent contact with department managers and division heads across the Company.
External
- Regular contact with contractors, vendors, suppliers, and government entities.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
- Operative environment requires integrity of all data and documents to be maintained in accordance with controls framework of the tender committees.
- Coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders, setting priorities, problem solving and decision making in a time pressured environment
- Facilitate expediting and logistics Process while ensuring highest standards for material availability, controls, ethics, and costs.

Key Job Accountabilities
- Achieve assigned logistics and expediting within the agreed performance criteria that can be complex in nature and ensure quality, cost and time targets.
- Inspect and review logistics deliveries for completeness and liaise with suppliers, logistic vendors and end users to resolve any outstanding issues.
- Analyze and acheive the requirements of all shipping and commercial documentations for all deliveries and identify correct approvals, handling and packaging.
- Monitor logistic vendors and provide reports on performance, costs and product development.
- Resolve general logitics problems, variations, and dispute issues, with an appreciation of the overall value-effectiveness of solutions.
- Acheive logistics and expediting activities between suppliers, logistic vendors, and end users to satisfy Qatargas business requirements and targeted savings.
- Establish ethical relationships with suppliers and logistic vendors to ensure the most cost effective solutions.
- Propose commercial commitments between Qatargas and logistics suppliers to deliver required materials and recommend the best mode of transport.
