CONTRACTS & PROCUREMENT ADVISOR
ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT AND JOB PURPOSE
Our Client, an Oil & Gas operator, owns a number interests on a number of assets across the north sea and operated a number of them. Due to The oil and gas industry has undergoing unprecedented change with the outlook for oil and gas prices to be in a state of flux for a period of time, we are currently recruiting for a Contracts & Procurement advisor. A significant amount of cost has been removed from both capex and opex through better control and collaboration within the supply chain. The job holder should have a good understanding of exploration and production activities in the UKCS and an understanding of the challenges facing the industry in a mature basin.
JOB SUMMARY
- Assist in the preparation of invitations to tender / tender evaluation / tender negotiations / recommendation to award in support of internal departments including: operations, projects and decommissioning
- Support the Supply Chain Manager in leading sourcing and administration processes in relation to contracts and procurement activities
- Ensure procurement activities are carried out in an efficient and fully auditable manner
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Draft ITTs and requests for quotations and contracts.
- Negotiate contracts
- Administer Framework contracts
- Review terms and conditions and conduct post-contract administration
- Regularly update the Supply Chain Manager and the Commercial Director on contracting and procurement activities
- Ensure compliance with UKCS industry supply chain initiatives
- Ensure a detailed audit trail and records are maintained and available for internal and external review
- Ensure full involvement of the Health and Safety function in the procurement process
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Preferably from a technical / engineering background with experience of the UKCS market
- IT literate – including SAP & MS Office
- Experienced in drafting terms and conditions for supply chain contracts for goods and services within the UKCS E&P environment
- Experience working to CRINE LOGIC standards is essential
- Presentational and communication skills (written & oral)
- Ability to drive negotiations to achieve the best deal possible
- Commercially astute
- Able to self-manage and work alongside team members
- Lateral thinker / problem solver
