We are working with a global manufacturing company who are looking to engage with a Senior Buyer / Planner to work on a contract basis located in the East Midlands. Our client is looking for someone who can demonstrate competent problem solving and negotiation skills with the ability to build teamwork to accomplish business objectives.
Responsibilities for this role include.
Work with suppliers to provide right material at the right time and ensure world-class supplier delivery performance
Develop and deploy consistent processes globally
Monitor and improve operational metrics
Expedite material and resolve supplier payment issues swiftly
Partner with the Functional Excellence team to drive automation processes and other value-added services to increase productivity and reduce response times
Partner with the Strategic Team to drive gross productivity and reduce working capital using of procurement tools
Issue Purchase Orders in accordance with Order Policy to satisfy customer need
Support the clients Key Delivery Metrics and Inventory goals
Work with suppliers to confirm delivery status and fully manage the Purchase Order Placement process
Negotiate best possible delivery date from suppliers for short-to-lead-time orders
Work on invoice resolution as needed
Essential Experience
Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
English fluent speaking and writing required
Ability to work in a cross functional, team oriented environment
Superior oral and written communication skills
Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise
Good knowledge in SAP and MS Office
