Description
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is being executed as a contract scope of work.
The duties and job functions of the Commissioning Engineer -Mechanical shall include, but are not limited to, the
following:
- Provide acceptance of Commissioning activities with respect to the Balance of Plant and Turbine Generator for the
- Participate in the execution of Mechanical Completion, Commissioning and Contractor Handover processes and procedure.
- Provide support and guidance to the project delivery teams for managing the construction /commissioning contractor interfaces.
- Review and ensure adequacy of the static commissioning, dynamic commissioning, system integration testing and performance testing procedures.
- Review and provide input for the development of integrated system testing plans and procedures.
- Coordinate key mechanical completion and all commissioning activities with the Balance of Plant and Turbine Generator contractors for the Mechanical discipline.
- Provide input for the continued development of safe work practices for multiple contractor energization and commissioning activities.
- Participate in site meetings representing Completions.
- Participate in daily multiple contractor commissioning coordination meetings. Witness and accept contractor static and dynamic commissioning and Start up of equipment and systems within the mechanical discipline of the Balance of Plant and Turbine Generator scopes of work.
- Review and accept contractors commissioning and Start up test reports.
- Responsible to ensure accurate records are maintained of the as built condition of equipment and systems.
- Responsible to ensure specified operator training is provided to Operations personnel.
- Responsible for preparation of data to support asset turnovers to the operator.
Requirements
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training
and experience
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
• 5 to 10 years successful completion /commissioning experience in delivery of major projects, in technical,
construction and commissioning leadership roles.
• Experience of hydro generating facilities is a significant advantage.
• Experience in developing and implementing processes and procedures to provide oversight and surveillance of
engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contracts.
• Possess an excellent and demonstrated safety and environmental record.
• Must be willing to travel to a remote Labrador construction site on a rotational basis
