Network Service Specialist / Australia

We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and direct staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the Mining Industry. Our client is a reputable operator within the Mining and has an exciting opportunity for a Network Service Specialist based in Perth on an initial 4 month contract.

The successful candidate will be a part of team of Network Service Specialists within the Information Technology department reporting to the IT Support Lead. The main responsibilities will be general implementation, technical configuration, ongoing operational health and maintenance of the businesses network and communications infrastructure installations as specified for all data centre operations sites. They will be required to provide technical support, troubleshooting and fault solutions of technical issues related to networking and telecommunication services.

They will participate in all new enterprise project and architecture initiatives with the view to ensuring that solutions meet current capabilities and support a sustainable and supportable outcome from any change required. Candidates will be required to provide IT On-Call support for network and communications problem resolution and remediation according to the IT Services support roster.

Suitable candidates should have a demonstrated understanding of a broad range of enterprise network systems including Cisco routing/switching across 4500, 6500, Nexus switches, ISR and ASR routers as well as Cisco technologies VSS, HSRP as well as OSPF BGP. Candidates should have experience in network monitoring/management systems ideally Solarwinds Orion. Applicants much have a tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related experience. Specific certifications in Cisco technology would be highly desirable.
