Construction & Engineering Supervisor - 28/28 Rotational / Algeria

Our client, an oil & gas operating company, requires a Construction & Engineering Supervisor for a 28/28 rotational role based in Algeria.

Role Overview:

- supports and applies the Group's HSE management system (plans, procedures and specifications) in its area of responsibility and with the various subcontractors.

- coordinates the specialists of the detail engineering, in connection with his counterpart at the subcontractor, being force of proposal when necessary. It ensures the conformity and validity of the overall detailed engineering file in relation to the objectives set, the rules of art, the international standards and the reference of the group, while integrating the aspects control, operability and maintenance of these facilities. He/she is responsible for guiding the construction engineering by taking into account the skills, equipment and materials available economically relevant to the construction area.

- coordinates the Construction, HSE and Quality supervisors, in liaison with his counterpart at the subcontractor, being the force of proposal when necessary. It ensures the conformity of the Construction with the objectives set, the rules of art, the international standards and the reference of the group, while integrating the aspects control, operability and maintenance of these facilities. He/She is responsible for guiding the Construction by taking into account the skills, equipment and materials available economically relevant to the construction area. It anticipates future actions so that it can accompany the subcontractor if necessary, including in its documentary production (operating mode, quality control plan, etc.).

- Participates in the analysis of the general documents of the package (including contractual and planning) and is force of proposal to solve the problems which it identifies. He carries out: the reporting, the meetings, the reports and proposes the mails in connection with his field of activity.

- works closely with the other entities of the group and its counterparts at the subcontractor

DETAIL OF MAIN ACTIVITIES:

1. defines the deliverables and ensures their overall consistency, in relation to the objectives set.

2. analyzes the documents provided by the various subcontractors, identifies the issues and is proactive in resolving them, including substituting the subcontractor if necessary.

3. Leads the main meetings / communications with the various subcontractors and ensures the reports

4. coordinates the overall operational monitoring (controls, methodological and technical assistance, reporting, planning, etc.) of the construction activities.

5. provides internal reporting in relation to the objectives set.

6. is responsible to his management for planning, quality, HSE compliance and contractual compliance.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Graduate of a construction engineering school or a well-known generalist;

- Experience in medium-sized EPC project management, equivalent position;

- At least 1 successful experience in multicultural environment (in North Africa would be a plus);

- Good command of French (written and oral);

- Good interpersonal skills;

- Good meeting facilitation skills (agenda, prioritization, definition of actions, report;

- Good knowledge of applicable standards and regulations in the life-saving construction industry;

- Good command of office tools (Excel, Word, etc.);

- A previous successful experience on a final camp project, in a desert environment, would be a plus.
