Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Bishop Auckland - £36K basic plus bonus

A leading manufacturing of construction materials is looking for a committed and professional Mechanical Engineer to work alongside the maintenance team; ensuring downtimes are kept to a minimum and to increase production. This will be a panama continental shift pattern, working days and nights with every other weekend off.

Responsibilities

• Essential mechanical maintenance
• Attending breakdowns as and when they occur quickly but methodically
• Improving OEE
• Adhering to high health and safety standards at all times
• Working to the PPM schedule

Essential skills

• Apprentice trained Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Level 3 or equivalent
• Good IT skills
• Heavy industry experience
• UK Driving licence
• Pneumatics and Hydraulics
• Basic welding
• Bearing fitting
• Mechanical fault finding

Desirable Skills

• ONC Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing
• Control of contractors and external suppliers
• Knowledge of cutting and grinding regulations
