Design Manager / England

A medium sized contractor is now seeking to recruit a Design Manager to strengthen their existing team.
 
From a main contracting background, you will have demonstrable experience in the co-ordination of projects up to £5m in value in either the education, commercial, retail and leisure sectors.
 
Key Roles will be:
 

• Monitoring of design & resolution of technical queries
• Ensure design is received on time for procurement & construction
• Distribution of design information
• Ensure proper records maintained

 
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
 

• Checking design against Contractors Proposals
• Control of drawings & design logs
• Distribution of drawings & design info
• Monitoring of design programmes
• Sub-contract design control & co-ordination
• Distribution of info for Client approvals
• Lead BREEAM input & discharge obligations
• Monitor Planning and Building Control discharge
• Monitor RFI flow & ensure technical queries resolved
• Input into VE and design change
• Monitor design changes and change control
• Ensure ‘as-builts’ & product information available for O&M’s
