Position Overview:
Responsible for creating, capturing and writing various types of user documentation, including Operating, Maintenance and Measurement manuals and procedures, diagrams and project plans.
This role supports the Crude Oil Pipeline and Terminal Logistics Organization and will report to the Complex Manager of Operations.
Responsibilities:
Support Crude Oil Terminal and Pipeline Operations & Maintenance by developing, editing, formatting and updating documents and templates including Operating, Maintenance and Measurement Manuals and Procedures, training materials and Project Plans in accordance with the Company Management System, Corporate Standards and applicable regulations, such as PHMSA and USCG.
Analyze and understand subject, purpose, audience and need and create clear, accurate and conforming document that can readily be applied to support regular work needs.
Possess and apply expertise to interview SMEs, conduct necessary research and gather information to produce accurate, comprehensive and unambiguous documentation.
Stay current with document and procedure management and tracking systems (ATR Smart Procedures).
Understand and follow document and procedure development, approval and publishing process to meet applicable regulations.
Manage, maintain and migrate ATR Smart Procedures.
Use technical knowledge to recommend improvements in manuals, procedures, and training materials.
Support Operations and Maintenance by ensuring ready access to the full body of information needed to perform their job, with emphasis on safety and incident & injury free results.
Partner with other technical writers and the training organization to develop documents in a standardized, structured, logical and mutually supportive manner.
Facilitate training sessions for procedures and process manuals.
Facilitate the Management of Change Process.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma Required
Experience working in a Crude Oil or Refined Products terminal and pipeline organization
Ability to read process flow diagrams and P&IDs
Familiarity with Oil and Gas HSSE Standards
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
Proven ability to communicate technical information clearly and succinctly
Excellent writing, spelling and grammar skills
Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Ability to effectively coordinate with others to accomplish work
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field of Study
Experience in Crude Oil Pipeline and Terminal Operations and Maintenance
Experience with third party software (i. e. ATR Smart Procedures)
Experience with regulations governing Pipelines and Terminals, including PHMSA and USCG
Experience with Management of Change
