Job Description
One of the Top Secondary steel and Architectural Metalwork Contractors in the UK is currently looking for an exceptional Contracts Manager to join their business on a permanent basis
The company manage a number of large, well known projects in the industry and work alongside some of the best main contractors, so this would be a great position for someone who is experienced in the industry and would like to apply their skills, knowledge and experience on other well-known, large scale projects
Key Responsibilities
- You will manage a team of Health and Safety Advisors to deliver the health and safety across the programmes design and construction supply chain.
- Deliver a consistent level of high quality performance within the Health and Safety team embedded within a Progamme, by developing capacity, capability, expertise and professionalism of team members
- Coordinate health and safety across the management of design and construction projects, developing and implementing Programme/Project health and safety risk profiling, planned health and safety assurance activities and reporting, to agreed standards and timescales.
- Be the lead at the Programme level on health and safety risk assessment, related problem solving and innovation
- You will provide strategic competent health and safety advice to senior managers, and employees.
Key Skills/Experience/Education
- You will have significant experience in health and safety leadership in large complex design and construction environment
- You will have experience of setting up and/or running a function that services the business needs.
- You'll have a strategic mind-set, and knowledge of health and safety legislation including Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
- Ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.
- Knowledge of the design, construct, operate and maintain asset lifecycle and experience of applying good safety practices at each stage.
- It is essential that you have membership of a recognised professional body and NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Health and Safety.
- A degree in a science or engineering discipline, Lead Auditor qualification and a Recognised Incident Investigation qualification are also desirable.
