Project Controls Manager: Bangladesh
My client is a specialist railway engineering consultancy looking to recruit an experience Project Planning and Controls Manager for their major mainline commuter railway project in Bangladesh. Ideal candidates will have experience on major railway infrastructure project around the world in senior Planning and Controls functions.
This is an expat position and comes with accommodation, health insurance, return flights, and also an attractive "tax free" salary.
Duties of the position
1. Undertake the organization, planning and management of the design, procurement and construction programme as a whole including the development of an overall computer-based project schedule and subsidiary schedules using Primavera in sufficient detail to control the Project.
- Develop and implement a project controls plan in consultation with the main contractor which provides a structured basis for project controls activities.
- Prepare and update the overall Works Schedule using Primavera P6 or Project to Level 4.
- Prepare and maintain a contract and procurement schedule based on the agreed contracting plan and regular analysis and reporting to the main contractor.
- Review expanded schedules for each Project Contract to Level 4/5 - Areas/Sub- Areas/Activity/Task/Resources and manage any deviations from the overall Works Schedule.
- Control interfaces between temporary construction services, permanent facilities and commissioning requirements by way of an on-site scheduling service.
- Monitor and report the scheduled performance of the construction activities.
- Report physical progress achieved each month against scheduled progress in the Schedule.
2. Maintain detailed engineering, procurement and construction activity (and package) schedules that fit the overall Project Schedule and keep these updated on a monthly basis whilst monitoring the progress of project activities against the Project Schedule.
3. Prepare reports for the main contractor including a monthly report. The monthly report incorporating the updated project schedules shall be provided and shall include a narrative highlighting critical activities and, outlining the current status of the Works and Services. This report shall also include cost information to be provided by the contractor.
4. Keep the main contractor promptly and fully informed of all substantive developments both favourable and unfavourable, relating to the Works, the Project Schedule, and the activities of the sub-contractors.
5. Meet weekly with the contractor to discuss progress, key issues and activities planned for the month ahead.
6. Going through and review of all claim issues and provide delay analysis to extension of time for time- related claims.
7. Assist preparation of claim report or provision of support documents for time related claims.
Requirements to apply
Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent .
10+ years in Project Planning and Controls Management on major infrastructure projects.
5+ years in Railway engineering and construction projects.
Expertise in using Primavera P6 software.
Strong communication skills, preferably with experience as a consultancy side expert advising the client and contractors.
