Additive Manufacturing Metallurgist

Location: Bristol

Salary: £65k - £70k

Our client specialises in Additive Manufacturing technologies used in a variety of applications including oil & gas, aerospace and automotive. They are searching for an AM Metallurgist to join the UK team.

Experience/ knowledge required:

• Fluent in English - Both written and verbal
• Hands on experience, working within a commercial environment

• Experience with Selective Laser Melting (SLM) - Desirable

• Bachelor or Master in Material Science, Physics or Mechanical Engineering and PhD in Material Science
• Practical experience with material analysis
• Experience with conducting experimental research

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with other team members to set up a test plan for specific materials
• Characterising properties of Additive Manufacturing materials.
• Establishing material specifications and quality for Additive Manufacturing materials.
• Establishing material post processing techniques, including surface finishing and heat treatments for additive manufactured components
• Characterising techniques required to support component production.
