We are supporting a leading consultancy with a major aviation project in Peru for which they are urgently requiring a Lead Mechanical Specialist with strong Airport experience. The Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima is undergoing a 1,200 million USD upgrade including the construction of a new runway, a control tower and a passenger terminal in addition to the existing one. Works will be completed in 4 years, by the beginning of the year 2023, and will allow the transit of 40 millions of passengers per year by 2030.

Opportunity & Responsibilities:

My client is a major International consultancy firm who have successfully delivered numerous projects around the region and further afield. You would be working with both locally and internationally based experts.

Responsibilities:

• Direct supervision of the design of mechanical installations, HVAC, Plumbing, Sewage and Fire and Life Safety installations, being responsible for the coordination of all mechanical installations within the Program, including the future Cogeneration.
• Direct relationship with Stakeholders, both in the design and construction phases.
• Drafting and review of the technical requirements necessary for the preparation of the Contract.
• Review the design strategies, materials and equipment proposed in the bidding and procurement phase.
• Be part of the design team that supervises the work progress of the EPC, reviewing the delivered documentation, verifying it according to the contract requirements.
• Review of the Building Energy Model.
• Supervision and Control of the Mechanical installations in the Construction phase, ensuring the contract requirements are met in the execution.

Key requirements for the role:

• Mechanical, Industrial or similar engineering Degree
• Minimum professional experience of 10 years in the management of mechanical projects in infrastructures of more than 100,000 m2 such as Airports, Hospitals and large Malls, developed in BIM.
• Knowledge will be valued in Cogeneration and Energy Certification plants.

Salary Package:

The salary is flexible depending on experience but would be expected to be circa $90,000 per year depending on experience.
