Insurance Advisor / USA

Basic Function

The Insurance department procures and manages the Company's Global Insurance Risk Management Program to protect the company against various property, liability, employee and financial risks. The Insurance team is responsible for identifying and assessing risks on an entity level related to its multi-national operations and strategically designing and implementing a robust insurance risk mitigation program; marketing the insurance programs and negotiating pricing and terms, ensuring foreign operations' compulsory requirements, as well as reviewing legal agreements to limit the Company's exposure to loss and assure regulatory and contractual compliance. The team also maintains broker and insurer relations and is a resource to the business units on insurance matters, including coverage interpretation and risk transfer tools.

Essential Responsibilities and Job Duties

* Manage contract insurance exhibit reviews: provide comments and recommendations to the insurance provisions in various third-party contracts to ensure compliance with our risk management best practices

* Manage Company's Certificate of Insurance program and monitor Vendors' Certificate of Insurance

* Manage and update international branch office local insurance placements

* Maintain Company's surety bond program

* Maintain Industry benchmarking data

* Maintain department's Insurance Guide with schedules and policy summaries

* Maintain Country Profile with regulatory and compulsory insurance requirements

* Maintain Loss notifications and claim files

* Support Insurance Database/Binder and Policy Reviews and Audit

* Assist and support insurance and risk management projects or reviews as needed

* Assist Director with data requests, analysis and preparation of insurance risk management presentations

Qualifications and Education Requirements

* 5+ years' experience offshore international E&P energy company insurance dept. or energy insurance brokering firm / underwriter

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management or related field - required. Professional designation: CPCU and/or ARM a plus

* Excellent oral, written communications, analytical and organizational skills

* Possess strong interpersonal skills along with project and time management skills with the ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines and process efficiencies where required.

* Experience with foreign multinational operations

* Previous contractual/legal experience, a plus

* Advanced computer skills - excel, word and power point

* Fluent in French and/or Spanish, a plus
