This role provides vital support to business processes in the Project group through effective Information/data management tools and techniques.
As a fully qualified Information Management Specialist, this position provides IT support to the Project group by developing, maintaining, enhancing, rolling-out and providing support for fit-for-purpose software tools and web applications.
Specific Accountabilities
- To solo develop in-house software tools to support a variety of project management, engineering, construction, reporting and document management functions by leveraging technologies including as SharePoint 2013/365, Microsoft Office 2010/365 suite, PowerBI and Bluebeam Revu
- To rollout, provide training for, and maintain developed solutions and existing in-house web applications
- To provide everyday support and administration of SharePoint sites, PowerBI reports and existing Microsoft Office-based solutions to end users
- To research, review and recommend additional software tools and to represent the Projects team on enterprise software initiatives
- Work with various Project and stakeholder groups to recognize and respond to changing requirements and procedures by updating existing software solutions
- To promote consistency on data gathering and reporting in order to enable Senior Management to make more informed data driven decisions and propose more effective solutions
- To act as the liaison with the IT department on behalf of the Projects group for larger-scale IT projects
- Provide expertise in integrating existing information management tools with other applications (SharePoint Excel, Word PowerBI Bluebeam, etc.)
Scope
- Responsible for providing IT support to project teams within the Project group, executing small to large-scale pipeline construction projects as well as senior management
- This position will focus on continuous improvement of current information management tools that lead to more efficient solutions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Degree or diploma from a recognized post- secondary institution in Computer science or certificate/diploma in Information management
- A minimum of 3 years direct related experience in web application development and/or administration
- Excellent knowledge of SharePoint 2013/365 - able to develop custom web applications using client-side SharePoint APIs including REST,SOAP, etc.
- Strong fluency in HTML 5, CSS and JavaScript
- Familiar with client side web application development
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, InfoPath, and PowerBI - able to develop custom VBA solutions
- Able to work independently to develop, maintain and rollout complete tools and web applications with little additional support
- Experience in developing data driven software products, tools and reports
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively and diplomatically/assertively interact with personnel at all levels of the organization
- Working experience in oil and gas projects and/or pipeline design, construction or operation would be an asset
