We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world- wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client is currently seeking an E/I Maintenance Technician for a 6 month contract to start (strong potential to extend into a long term opportunity). The shifts will be 5/2 off, 9 hours per day. All candidates must be local to Fort McMurray as no LOA or camp is provided.

- Provide Electrical/Instrument expertise in the maintenance of all SAGD processing facilities and field locations
- Understand challenges of day to day maintenance, as well as facility shutdowns and turnarounds
- A proven analytical approach to troubleshooting, with exceptional problem solving skills
- Self-motivated and the ability to work safely with very little guidance
- Strong interpersonal skills, ensure effective communication with Operations, Maintenance and Management staff
- Complete work orders as required and ensure the system is updated
- Help establish a predictive/preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment and ensure it is adhered to
- Maintain superior housekeeping standards throughout the plant and field areas
- Experience working with low, medium and high voltage switchgear and MCCs
- Experience with large horsepower motors, starters and isolating equipment
- Experience with VFDs, programming and troubleshooting
- Experience with measurement and analytical instrumentation, calibration and troubleshooting
- Should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry
- Alberta Journeyman Electrician Certificate or Inter-Provincial Red Seal
- Alberta Journeyman Instrumentation Certificate or Inter- Provincial Red Seal
- Valid Alberta class 5 operator’s license
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High Voltage certification, an asset
- Standard safety certificates will be required
